Overview
Quarterdeck AI is a read-only HubSpot app for RevOps leaders, founders, and sales leaders who want a faster weekly pipeline review.
The primary surface is the Monday Brief. It summarizes material changes, ranks the deals that deserve review, shows the HubSpot evidence behind each recommendation, and calls out lower-priority changes that can safely wait.
Quarterdeck is not a forecasting system, CRM automation tool, or Gong/Clari replacement. It does not write to HubSpot, update deals, create tasks, or claim that a deal will close. AI narrative is generated after deterministic calculations and is not used to calculate pipeline changes; review generated text against the supporting evidence.
Step 01
Prerequisites
- A HubSpot account with permission to install apps.
- A pipeline with open deals, owners, close dates, amounts, and stage data.
- A Quarterdeck account at Request Early Access.
Step 02
Create your workspace
Approved users create a workspace with their work email and company name. Design partners receive temporary access while we validate whether the Monday Brief saves forecast-prep time.
Step 04
Permissions requested
Quarterdeck requests only read-only scopes and no HubSpot write scopes.
| Scope | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| crm.objects.deals.read | Read deal fields and history used for close-date drift, amount movement, stage movement, owner changes, stale deals, and missing-field evidence. |
| crm.objects.owners.read | Show deal owners and detect unassigned material deals. |
| crm.objects.contacts.read | The current integration uses this scope when reading deal-note creation timestamps; it does not call contact-record endpoints or store contact records. |
See the full breakdown on the Shared Data page.
Step 05
Run your first brief
Open Monday Brief and run a Trust Scan. Quarterdeck syncs HubSpot, compares current evidence against prior snapshots where available, and derives the review queue from deterministic rules.
- Close-date pushes and past-due close dates.
- Amount changes that materially alter pipeline value.
- Stage movement, including regressions based on HubSpot pipeline order.
- Owner changes on material deals.
- Stale late-stage deals where activity evidence is weak or insufficient.
- Repeated drift and deals appearing in the queue week after week.
Step 06
Read the Monday Brief
The brief is organized around the questions a revenue leader asks before forecast:
- What changed? Material movement since the last useful snapshot.
- Needs Attention The 5-10 highest-priority deals to review.
- Evidence The CRM facts behind deterministic scores and review-queue items.
- Forecast / trust context A deterministic explanation of pipeline confidence.
- Worth knowing Changes Quarterdeck detected but intentionally deprioritized.
Deterministic views use Insufficient evidence when their inputs cannot support a scored conclusion. AI-generated narrative should still be reviewed against the cited evidence.
Step 07
Weekly delivery
The weekly briefing uses the same attention engine for email and, when you configure a Slack incoming webhook, Slack delivery. It includes What Changed, Needs Attention, Forecast / Trust Context, Worth Knowing, and a Review in Quarterdeck link.
Successful deliveries are deduplicated so a tenant does not receive the same weekly brief twice.
Step 08
Reports and history
Reports preserve prior briefings and manually generated Evidence Memos. Treat them as an evidence archive and executive artifact, not as a second dashboard to inspect.
Creating a public report link makes that report available without sign-in to anyone who has the bearer link. Public links do not expire automatically; revoke the link or delete the report when access is no longer needed.
Step 09
Disconnecting
You can disconnect Quarterdeck locally or revoke its OAuth grant from HubSpot.
From Quarterdeck: go to Settings and click Disconnect.
From HubSpot: go to Settings - Integrations - Connected Apps, select Quarterdeck AI, and disconnect it.
What happens to your data: when Quarterdeck confirms a successful disconnect, it has deleted the stored HubSpot connection and the CRM-derived records used by the product. If a deletion step fails, Quarterdeck reports an error instead of confirming success. Revoke the OAuth grant separately from HubSpot Connected Apps. Quarterdeck does not modify HubSpot records. HubSpot disconnect does not delete account, tenant, billing, authentication, activation, or feedback records.
Step 10
Uninstalling
To uninstall the app from HubSpot, open HubSpot's Connected Apps settings, select Quarterdeck AI, and confirm uninstall.
Uninstalling revokes the OAuth grant at HubSpot and prevents future HubSpot API access, but it does not invoke Quarterdeck's local deletion flow. Use Disconnect in Quarterdeck Settings as well. Neither action modifies your HubSpot CRM data.
Step 11
Troubleshooting
- “Connection failed” during OAuth
- Confirm you selected the correct HubSpot portal and have permission to install apps.
- “No material exceptions”
- This can be a valid result. Quarterdeck does not fabricate issues to fill the page. It may also mean the portal needs more historical snapshots before temporal drift can be detected.
- “Reconnect HubSpot” prompt appears
- Reconnect from Settings and approve the same read-only scopes.
- Activity looks active but the deal still appears stale
- Quarterdeck avoids treating every CRM timestamp as buyer engagement. Where HubSpot data cannot distinguish human activity from automated/system activity, the evidence is labeled cautiously rather than overstated.
